Next Gen Psyche & Wellness

Next Gen Psyche & Wellness is a modern, integrative psychiatric practice built around one core belief: meaningful mental health care takes time, access, and trust.

We are guided by the symbol of the lotus, representing the belief that healing and transformation can arise from life’s challenges. Our practice blends modern psychiatric medicine with holistic, neuroscience-informed strategies, emphasizing the brain’s ability to heal and evolve. Treatment plans are deeply personalized, focused on compassion, dignity, and seeing each client as whole. We partner with clients to foster emotional strength, balance, and self-understanding, promoting the journey of wellness and the potential for growth and renewal after adversity. Our mission is to provide integrative, human-centered, and compassionate care aligned with the future of psychiatric wellness.

How we can help

Holistic mental health care for ADHD, anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, and OCD are offered statewide via telehealth and in-person in San Diego.

In the journey of life, mental health is your compass.

We focus on long-term healing through personalized care, trauma-informed treatment, advanced biological therapies, lifestyle medicine, and deep patient education — with the goal of helping patients build independence, resilience, and lasting mental health.

When clinically appropriate, we offer same-day appointments, because waiting weeks for care often means suffering longer than necessary.

And once you’re in the room, we follow a simple rule: no clock-watching, no rushed care.

Access to Care Philosophy

Mental health care is a human right — not a privilege.

No one should be left untreated simply because they cannot afford care or navigate complex systems. We actively work to connect each person to the right level of care through multiple pathways, including:

  • • Insurance-based care
  • • Sliding-scale options
  • • Community referrals
  • • Vouchers and public programs
  • • Limited pro bono services when appropriate

We maintain a tiered care model so financial barriers are never the sole reason someone is denied help.

Our Philosophy

Our principle is simple:
no one should be left untreated because of financial status, immigration status, or lack of access.

Commitment to Underserved & Undocumented Communities

We hold a strong commitment to serving vulnerable and underserved populations, including undocumented individuals and families who often face the greatest obstacles to mental health treatment.

Our role goes beyond prescribing — we actively help patients:

  • • Navigate healthcare systems
  • • Identify community and nonprofit resources
  • • Access low-cost or no-cost treatment options

Accessibility

Equity & Access to Care

Next Gen Psyche & Wellness is committed to equitable mental health treatment.

We offer:

  • • Standard private-pay care
  • • Sliding-scale options
  • • Referrals to community agencies
  • • Limited pro bono services

We assist patients in navigating insurance systems and public programs, with special attention given to underserved and undocumented communities to ensure systemic barriers do not block access to appropriate care.

This philosophy is a core differentiator of our practice and aligns closely with:

  • • Nonprofit partnerships
  • • Grant-funded programs
  • • Academic collaborations
  • • Training and mentorship initiatives
  • • Community-based mental health clinics

Our Goals

Our Clinical Mission

We believe psychiatry should be:

  • • Personalized, not rushed
  • • Collaborative, not hierarchical
  • • Long-term focused, not symptom-only
  • • Integrative, not medication-only

We emphasize:

  • • Meaningful time with patients
  • • Long-term therapeutic relationships
  • • Shared decision-making
  • • Education as a core part of treatment

Our goal is not lifelong dependence on care, but confidence, insight, and sustainable independence.

Our Approach

Why the Relationship Matters

Research consistently shows that the relationship between a patient and their provider, called the therapeutic alliance, is one of the strongest predictors of improvement in mental health care. That holds regardless of the specific treatment. When you feel heard, respected, and part of the decision-making, treatment tends to work better.

Your mind shapes your response to treatment.

Expectations have real effects on the brain and body. When people feel hopeful and understand how a treatment works, they often respond better. This is known as the placebo effect, and it involves measurable changes in brain chemistry. The reverse, the nocebo effect, is just as real: fear, uncertainty, or negative expectations can increase side effects and reduce benefit. That's why we take time to explain what to expect, answer your questions, and address worries before they become barriers.

Treatment works best when it fits your life.

Many people stop medications early because of side effects, cost, confusion, or feeling unheard. That's often why a treatment "fails." We work with you to build a plan you understand, can afford, and can stick with. If something isn't working, we want to hear about it, so we can adjust together instead of starting over.

Good care is not something done to you. It's something we build together.

"I finally felt heard." "He actually listened, asked the right questions, and took time to understand my situation. I've never felt this understood by a psychiatric provider before."

"I felt safe and supported." "I feel safer, more supported, and genuinely cared for. This is the first time mental health care has felt grounding instead of stressful."

"Thoughtful, knowledgeable, and thorough." "He is incredibly thoughtful and intelligent. He explains diagnoses and treatment options clearly and makes sure everything makes sense."

"This feels different-in the best way." "I've seen many psychiatrists, but this is the first time I truly felt understood and cared for at a deeper level."

Very helpful in all aspects, reliable, and always fast and effective.

Creating a world where mental health is valued.
