Are You a Candidate for Naltrexone?

Next Gen Psyche and Wellness is now offering evidence-based treatment with Naltrexone for opioid and alcohol use disorders—supporting your recovery with holistic, compassionate care

What is Naltrexone?

Naltrexone is a non-addictive medication that helps reduce cravings and prevent relapse.

  • For alcohol use, it helps you cut down or quit by reducing the reward from drinking.

  • For opioids, it blocks the euphoric effects and helps maintain sobriety—without any withdrawal or addictive ris

Am I a Good Candidate

You may qualify if:

You’re struggling with cravings, binge use, or frequent relapse

You’re committed to recovery and want non-habit-forming support

You’re opioid-free for at least 7–10 days (OUD only)

You’re seeking a structured program that includes labs, therapy, and medical support

Treatment Options at Our Clinic

  • Oral Naltrexone (daily tablet)

  • Vivitrol® (extended-release injection) – lasts 4 weeks

We combine medication with therapy, coaching, and lifestyle support to give you the best chance at long-term success.

Counseling Points We Cover During Your Visit

  • Naltrexone is non-addictive and has no withdrawal effects when stopped

  • It won’t cause a “high”—instead, it blocks the effects of opioids or alcohol

  • You must avoid opioids completely while on treatment (including some prescription pain meds)

  • For alcohol, you can start even if still drinking—but counseling and motivation are key

Do I Need Detox or Testing First?

For opioid use disorder:

  • YES — You must be opioid-free for 7–10 days to avoid severe withdrawal

  • We will perform a urine drug screen (UDS) to confirm

  • In some cases, we perform a naloxone challenge test in-office for safety

For alcohol use disorder:

  • NO detox required in most cases

  • You can begin while still drinking—though readiness to change improves outcome

Labs & Safety

Before prescribing, we check:

  • Liver function (AST, ALT, bilirubin)

  • Urine drug screen (UDS)

  • Opioid-free status (OUD only)

Ongoing lab monitoring is done as needed based on your clinical profile.

Contraindications

  • Current opioid use or physical dependence
